I will start by saying i have been reading the threads on the t5 to banger conversions but for some reason i still cant seam to figure it out. I have a ford and a s10 t5 both non world cl***.Guess my main question is if i make an adapter plate my input shaft is too short with both trannies. i have heard a rumor of using the AA bell housing, is it thinner? Also any suggestion on what clutch to use to help simplify this? It seams i am missing something because according to the stuff i have been reading it should be a farely simple swap. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Chopper
yes an AA is thinner you will have to put your pedal shaft on that adapter also (if you are still using stock model a pedals) tk
Another alternative is to replace the entire bellhousing with one from these guys: http://www.macsspeed.com/adapters_1.html They are a full cast, heat treated bell that will fit any trans with a 6 1/2 inch input shaft. The bellhousing includes a pedal mount shaft, so you don't need adapters to run stock A pedals. Graeme will even drill the bell for LHD or RHD pedals, or in my case BOTH LHD and RHD so I can use the bell in any future project I may slip a banger into The bellhousing also includes the wishbone mount on the bottom, so you can run an unsplit bone with original geometry and..... it is drilled with both the A and B/C bolt patterns Fantastic product, beautiful casting, great service. NOT as cheap as a AA bell + plate adapter ............ but SO much neater, nicer and versatile Add one of CrazyDaddio's adapters to the other end of the T-5, and you can keep your Torque Tube as well With a THomas Head, this bell, a T-5, the torque tube adapter and a 101 Halibrand QC I will have heaps of cool aluminium peaking out from under the T roadster ch***is ........ and a S.C.o.T blower is next )
Thanks Mark that sounds like a little easier solution. Would love to see pics of your ride and setup? Chop
