There must be alot of guys getting screwed by this guy and googling his name. If his name comes up on a forum well obviously you gotta become a member to post, hence all the fng first post's here. With all the alias's he's using, I think a picture of the guy would be helpful. (more like a mug shot)

Haha.. Yeah, I'm still a fng even though I joined here in 2007. I've been more of a mini truck guy cause I can't afford what I really want. lol One day though.

Just trying to find out more info for my buddy. Here's a pic my buddy sent me of his truck at this shop. At least it's supposed to be the shop. It's an Explorer with a full custom frame with MII front setup and Heidts IRS.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!!

This man asks for down payments to start work for you and never even starts the project. I was taken for quite a bit of money by putting a down payment down for the building of a motor and was told it would be done within 6 weeks. Those weeks came and went and when I called to see when it would be done I was put off. Every time I called I got excuse after excuse. When I demanded my money back he said good luck because he didn't have it. I have no motor to show for it either. The job was never even started on.
This man has changed the name of his business several times and taken dozens of people for a lot of money. This place should be shut down permanently!

Wow, another victim. I can't believe they are still getting away with this.

Is there nobody who can pay these people a visit? I really wish they were in my neck of the woods.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Hope you get some kind of resolution.

Previous owners of Heartland Engine Builders. Jim Schaffer is a thief and should be behind bars. I purchased a 427 windsor stroker from them in 06 and it took forever to build. When I installed it and started it for the first time the bottom end came apart. He told me to send it back, and he'd fix it. Never got it back and now i'm waiting my day in court ( May 2nd 2011)to sue this ***hole and get my money back. I can't believe the State of Indiana would let him keep changing names to rip more people off.. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS MAN .... Call Tom Irons, ***istant state attorney general of Indianappolis if you need leagal advise.

I must be lucky as I got about 10,000 miles on the motor he built for me but some issues popped up after the trip to Florida so I am going to build another motor myself.

8/7/11, I strongly suggest you not do business with this company (DRS engines). This company and its management (Jim, Daniel) have existed for years by taking your business and your money and then not delivering the product or trying to deliver used parts. And because of this practice, this company DRS Engines also has a practice of changing its name (Dynamic Racing, Heartland Engines, etc.) and phone numbers to only restart the process all over again. I paid $4000 for an engine in January of 2010 and I never received it. I have since taken them to court to try and stop them once and for all. We have had 3 court appearances and they have never showed up. I won the judgment but when the courts went out to investigate the business, they believe the doors have been closed.
This sounds like more of the same from this group. Be very very cautious of any business such as this on Murry Street in Indianapolis.

I gave DRS engines 3000 dollars for 1995 impala ss. I'm finding reports like this all over the internet of this guy scamming people. Do not trust this man. His current number is 317 752 9879. Also, ifyou have had problems as others I have found, go to google places and find DRS engines. Write a review and tell others. We need to nail this guy to the wall.

After 2 trips to Florida and about 15,000 miles I think the motor is about done,I think the cam is loosing a lobe and has another noise along with the tick but still cant blame him right now since I broke the motor in when the oil was loosing the zinc. Will check it out this winter and if its a cam I will find a used motor since I have been driving it for a few years with it going bad and will probably need more them just a cam.

Even though I thought the motor was toast last year it made a third trip to Florida last week, its always had a noisy lifter which I will fix when I install the cam I originally wanted when I ordered the motor. It seemed to have a bottom end noise last year so I think it did not like the department store house brand oil I used for last years trip and sounded good with the Rotella T,I think I have a decent bottom end but has some valve train issues to deal with.
