I have a Holley 650 cfm carb, vacuum secondary, single pump. I bought the generic holley kit for vacuum secondary 4 bbl but the carb is not listed. Carb is supposed to be from a 75-78 corvette 350 number is 9598. Should I have any issues rebuilding this with the kit? Kit number is 37-754. Any way I can get settings and specs. Carb is going on a 325 or 350 hp 396 chevelle motor(in chevelle) if that makes a difference.
Putting in the rebuild kit shouldn't give you much trouble. Just work really clean, dont lose any parts, and remember where everything goes. You might have to mess with the jet sizes a bit to make it work right on the Engine you will put it on, so I would put in the re-useble Metering Block Gaskets. Don's Hot Rod sells them...
Most of the time... a Holley is a Holley is a Holley. If the kit is the same Holley "family", then it will work.
Reusable ones are blue right? Because those are in the kit. This carb was built and set up by a guy that went to school for Holleys, and according to stories this car ran like a banshee when it was last up(8 yrs ago), so I'm hoping it was set up for the motor.
Yeah. Most of the time I dont take the main body off the throttle plate. Seems more trouble than its worth to me, but maybe that is wrong... Maybe some other guys can give you some advise about that...
