Looks great (and looks like you know what you are doing). Looking forward to seeing it put back together.
is that the car from pastduebill? if so used to own that car , you are doing it just right .good luck , hope to see more
thats what I'm going for. Except it will now have the 56 caddy front bumper and grill along with the caddy rear bumper with the exhaust exiting through the bumper. It will also have the skirts and the hood is now welded together and smoothed. It will also have some caddy caps with different wheels
I change my mind on color by the minute. I have went from dark green, maroon, redish orange, metallic blue, gunmetal grey...uggghhh the list goes on
started mocking up my 56 caddy bumpers last night....I was just relieved to find out that the caddy front bumper is the correct width! Two years into this project and I finally picked something that actually fits without a ton of modification about time huh?
Looking pretty cool so far. I couldn't believe you were doing it. So what does this do to your tail lights?
Sorry guys.... I've been slacking bad. I will get on that tomorrow. I'm actually going to pick up a turbo and intercooler kit that I'm going to fab up for the inline 6 I decided to shelve the caddy 472 motor idea for a while. Hmrk2.... The sable tail lights are no more....Got some bad *** 61chrysler boomerang tail lights on the way from fellow hamber "Hotdamn." What do you guys think...... 3.5 inch chop, 4 inch section, 56 caddy front bumpers/grille and rear bumpers, dual exhaust will exit through the bumper, got 61 caddy caps or 57 caddy caps to choose from (thanks bill for those!), going to french the headlights, 61 chrysler boomerang tail lights, 216 with a t3/t4 turbo and intercooler, lowered 3 inches, welded the hood together, smooth the engine block and paint then pin stripe it, re-do the interior (I'm keeping the orig bench seats...going to section them so I can fit in there, going to have to come up with a different idea for a headliner bec the original one will not work because of the section bec I need the couple inches that it sits from the roof), deciding whether to run the skirts,....Items I still want to find; 50's Buick hood hinge so the hood opens to the side, also maybe the side trim from the same year buicks so I can two-tone the car, Buick hood portholes, 56 caddy headlight surrounds, find a cool steering wheel, and I need to round up some different steel wheels (I'm wanting to do 15x7 on the front and back) I'm sure I will think of more Colors ideas....a dark metallic blue (maybe with silver/white as the two tone color), maybe a redish-orange, or maybe pewter metallic (mineral gray)....who knows....I keep seeing colors that I like for it daily Let me know what you guys think
I saw the 57 caddy caps or chrome reverse steelies! wheelkid makes some really nice ones! as for color, I would do a candy or a heavy pearl, maybe even a fog job, make it look like it was built in 62! you need to run some 61 chrysler canted quads on there! now that would be ***s!!! go full tilt early 60's!!! got a set of those lights if you needem.
It's coming along buddy! When ur all done with ur section come help with mine! still too damn cold in the garage to work on mine! It's driving me stir crazy
Lol. Will do. I'm gonna be going crazy too trying to figure out how to install the twin turbos on the inline 6
got the driverside welded up....now on to the p***engerside. My brother in-law was hitting the engine bay area with the wire wheel. Its going to look bad***!!
Looks goods man. Those tail lights will be way more kooler than before. Keep doing what you're doing. It's going to be a killer ride.
thanks man! it won't be as cool as yours though. I just got a lot done on the firewall. I will post pics of it tomorrow
been seriously neglecting my fleetline project lately. I've got the ford 9in rear pulled out from under my roadster and put under the fleetline. I still have to fab up new spring mounting perch locations. Gonna try to do them tonight and get some picks posted.
yea...i'm robbing my roadster of it's entire drivetrain. That was way too much motor for that roadster anyway. I'm probably going to put the six in my roadster.
