Don't have pics yet my son shot them, but got called out so will post later if able. The picture in the avatar is the motor. That is one bad a-- sounding motor I was kind of busy so really did not get to enjoy to much during the breakin but once we idled it down all I can say it gave *** a run for its money. My problems are water seeping from some of the lower exhaust studs (they were coated with liquid teflon), Tightening up slowed considerably, is there something else I could use on them to do a better job.

  2. Glad you got her fired up! post some pics and maybe video when you can. Love the early HEMIs!

  3. Maybe just run it again for awhile, let it cool a few times & retighten. It might stop plus you want to hear it again anyway right?
    Good luck!

Right Stuff usually works for me. I get mine at Carquest.

I have never heard of this Right Stuff, is it a sealer or anti-seize sealer combination?

once you use Right Stuff you will never use any other sealer.....its all in the preparation , if you use it on a oil pan or intake make sure you apply small bead and let it skin over then bolt on that way you can take it apart later if you don't you'll need a 6ft pry bar to get it off.....man i love that stuff i have things right stuffed to the wall in my garage LOL

That stuff sounds like a permanent fix. If we change the word could to can in the above quote than this might be the fix. I just need to do the threads on the studs that enter the heads. Water is not entering the oil gallery in the valve covers its coming up thru the bolt threads and weeping out the top of the donavan valve covers

DONE! and as for the threads make sure everything is clean and dry
second option is Loc***e which is more designed for a thread application

Update I believe the oil and water leakage is seeping out the head gasket.I am hoping retorking the heads will cure the problem. Used SCE copper gaskets and they say to retork after cam breakin. Any thought here anybody incur this problem before. When I put water in the first time it seeped water I believed at the lower exhaust studs tightened them up and water stopped, during breakin water seepage came bac oil is ever so slightly right ner center of head and near the return ports.

Stock head bolts or a stud package? Initial torque numbers?

I use Ultra Copper and it works fine, its silicone and never gets brittle or hard. Will fix your leaks and still be able to remove the bolts whenever you want, amazing stuff.

My old Jag motor seeped water around the head studs too. These studs go all the way down into the bottom of the block, so they're in the water jacket - I found a little RTV around the stud where it came thru the head fixed it, but the Jag uses a big thick washer under the head nuts, so that gave it something to seal against.

  18. Are those SCE gaskets *all* copper or do they have some silicone rings on them?.
If they're all copper,K&W Coppercoat is the **** to use when running water.
Comes in spray, but the can w/dauber is best.Shake well.
