Anyone in Pittsburgh who can help me-I'd really appreciate it. I am trying to contact Don Fisher who does business as Fisher's Auto Sales and Service or B & D Towing-both at 2151 Robinson Blvd. In April 2003, I bought a '31 Ford coupe ( pearlescent white with purple fenders) at Carlisle from Mr. Fisher. I am now trying to get it ready for a re-paint, and we can't get the paint off. 80 grit and the paint clogs the paper in just a few swipes. I believe Mr. F told me his son painted the car (maybe). In any case, if anyone could contact these guys and ask them if they remember anything about painting the car-single stage, lacquer, brand name, anything, I'd really be grateful. You can PM me or call my cell 570-428-5629. Many,Many thanks. Jeff
that sounds like lacquer. just stripped a black 39 chev that was lacquer euuuugh what a mess same as you are describing. what worked best was 80 grit on a buffer probably like an 8 inch disc
Yep. Had an old card he gave me when i bought the car-left a message-but it wasn't a business answering machine so I am not sure if it's a current#-no word yet. Googled both businesses-no answer at the phone. Who doesn't answer a towing company phone. Sure could use the information though. Thanks.
I just talked to Buck at the 9548# He said it was enamel with pearl paint. He said try using a honeycomb disc or aircraft paint stripper. Mark
