  8. What the hell is wrong with original frames?

    Let me translate:
"So here I have gone and here I am letting people know that yes, I took a G body '82 Cutl*** and yes, the G body is under my 56 s120 International. I have to say since the cab and the front has been on I can't stop looking at it. I love it! I have all my wires in, steering's in, just have to get my cab mounts welded and my box cut down smaller so it will fit. This is the first time ever doing this. Taking the challenge is nuts, but I love it and want to keep doing (it?) so maybe make some money at it.
Maybe (I am laughing audibly). Not to much has gone wrong. Everything from the Cutl*** I have used that made that car move, light up, and start it's all in a 56 now; not the heater yet though, it will be though with a.c.
    Here are some pictures"

  10. that grate shoude be phun hope the ch***ess strength enouff origally Cutless had one peace long body pickup too peace mite bend in middoe will ride niece thou

    Dang mang, sorry 'bout that.

Translation .... I have a couple of G-bodies myself. I would be doing a good bit of frame strengthening before installing the cab and box. The Cutl*** body and frame when combined, makes for a good strong platform ... I am not sure the Cutl*** frame, if not strengthened, is up to the task of supporting a p-up (being that a p-up body is actually two pieces). Take a look at a real p-up frame, generally a very deep C-channel.

Get those pics up ... oh, and don't get rid of the "bent in the front" frame, might be a good candidate for welding a later front frame/suspension clip to.

For the cutl*** frame yes i am making it better.the 56 cab i have made peaces to go from side of cab over drive shaft to the other side of fram .then cab mounts to that but yes i know what your saying with the frame being open the way it is im going to make plates with 3 inch holes every 3 inchs holes are just for looks and so i can get at gas lines if needed.

My son and I have used a 87 G Body (REGAL) frame for his 49 F1. We followed an article in an old Book I have called "How to make real hot rods". We opened up the frame behind the front suspension and in front of the rear links and added 3 1/2 box section steel in between. After it was all welded up we cut out the old doglegs from the frame and added round tubing crossmembers. Very strong and a pretty good looking ch***is if I can say so myself.

I'll refrain from giving any grief regarding grammar. Fella probably grew up speaking a different language, and learned some English later. I'm certainly glad this board isn't based in Germany, Italy, France or some other country. Then people would be making fun of me trying to communicate in a language I really am not too well versed in. Hell, he's a car guy working to get his ride on the road, let's have some encouragement.

  18. No, it's about taking the extra 10 seconds to proof read and make a somewhat clear statement, or ask a clear question so that others can help him or encourage him properly. We're helping him help himself.

  19. Hey TOOLMAN, any pics? (of the ch***is).

Boys, I think we have been had.....but on the off chance this task has been done, I'm left asking myself "If he can't figure out a dictionary, how is he/she going to figure out how to post pictures???"

  22. Don't worry about the spelling, just get those pics up.

We all have our "issues" ... Me? ... I don't look good in a skirt :D:eek:. (trust me on this ... and don't ask for pics either).
