great pix. your dad and his pals are what this was all about (and still is for most of us)...I did notice that there were no spider webs, maltese crosses, underslung rear suspension, tractor grilles, Kaiser Wilhelm helmets.....gosh...what a surprise.

Your dad and pals built some very cool rides. They "got it" and it shows. Thanks for posting some outstanding old shots...I love old photos and these are amazing. Love that 5 window..of course....but the roadster with white walls, no radiator is awesome.

Some more. Kind of a sad day for me today. I had my Uncles headstone placed on his grave today and it got me thinking a lot about my Dad and him. Came home and started looking at some pictures. I have been meaning to scan these things, and seeing others enjoy them has made me feel pretty good...

My Dad's first car. He borrowed the money from my Grandma and by the time she got home from work, my dad and uncle already had the hood off and engine out...

    My Uncle's 57- I guess it's the reason I love 57 Fords...

My Dad's 59 Apache. Bought it new at Frank Z Chevrolet in Dayton, paid for the truck and walked to the parts department and bought a brand new 283/270hp vette engine and 4 speed.

Another of my dad's cars. He and my uncle where driving around the night before my Dad was shipping out to the Army. A kid bought the car that night and my dad and uncle delivered it to his house and backed it into the garage. Car was never seen again around Dayton? Dad could never remember where the garage was (they had been partying a little to much)... Car could still be in that little one car garage. Car had a SBC with dual carb intake...

That 5 window, fenderless, just sits right. A true hot rod.
