I've only heard Horror Stories, from many independant sources. I imagine they stay in buisness by undercutting everyone on prices.
Their work is poor and won't last. Also, the cheap skates won't pay squat for nice unmolested cores!! Try Keystone. I've heard they're OK. Maybe others won't agree. Tet's see!!
Wow, I'm glad this came up. I just had an excellent price quote for from them for pair of '48 Ford bumpers but now maybe I'll p***.
THEIR PRICES ARE HIGH AS HELL !!!!!!!!! $380 for an exchange on a 53 Pontiac Bumper last time I called. It's friggin $250 to re-plate locally !
Don't Do It You Send Them A Mint Bumper They Send You Someone Elses ****. My Friend Sent Them A Sweet 65 442 Bumper He Got Back The Wrong Bumper.
lol i was lookin for their website and spelled it like a normal person would and boy did i get a suprise... anyway i think ill keep lookin for a closer chrome shop...
you must of just had a bad peice, my bumper end for my 57 lasted a whole week before it peeled, of course I did have a hood bar that blistered up before I got it mounted on the car. They ****!
What everyone else said. They ****. Ordered a set of '41 bumpers for my '40 'cause they look cooler. Got a set of badly chromed '40 with rust and pits on the back side. Made them take them back but lost my good cores. I ,too, know people who have gotten muscle car bumpers from them that were terrible .
i believe they were here in wichita years back at starbirds tryin to sell there "goods" what they had on display looked ok but higher than hell, plus ive heard nuthin but bad things on them!!
BASICALLY from what's been on teh HAMB the last 3-4 years... They STEAL your GOOD cores/bumpers, and sell them rechromed at HIGH prices at swap meets, and they give you back ****TY badly chromed items that are usually rusty or bent. Suprised no ones sued them out of existance. MKK
Stay away far away from these guys....Find someone local. There was a post about these guys in early March.... Do not use these clowns. I have learned the hard way. I now only use local guys cause they tend to do a better job and atleast you can go to the shop if there is a problem. I now engrave the bumper with my plate number so I know it is mine.
I've seen their stuff at some shows, nice and bright, but the chrome's so thin it just won't last and there ain't no base plating I can tell. I've never heard of a happy customer. These other guys are far from Kansas, but they are very helpful and have a good website and a good rep as far as I have heard. Their stuff at the shows IS impressive. Librandi's Plating at www.carchrome.com. Maybe some other HAMBers have used them?
