It's a 1956 235 Chevy p***enger car motor with a dented oil pan due to being transferred around before I bought it. I pulled the pan for repair but I can't find the spec for oil pickup height off the pan floor. I have the factory service manual but it's for the 51 GMC truck that the motor is going into and I don't want to buy another FSM just for the motor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 48-51 truck manual but it does not give a spec for the clearance in it- but there is an online manual if you google it I am sure you can find it. You might have better eyes than I do. Jim

Thanks Jim. The only thing I found online and free was the old car manual project and the closest was a 54 GMC motor. The pickup was different and did not list a spec for pan clearance. Maybe there isn't a spec, just bolt er on and go. :D
