There was a grabber blue '70 Cougar with "sold" on it. Nothing else moved, got loaded up, or marked sold while I was there. A friend of mine (another member here) stayed later to dig through the parts barn, but was unsuccessful in buying anything while I was there. He thought maybe it'd get better as the day wound down. Maybe he'll chime in.

The sold Cougar- may have been '71?

This truck said "runs/drives $5000" and may have been the closest thing to buyable.

Unfortunately a sign of the times....GREED...
    Those prices are crazy......
Only one I saw on the photos was a Chevy Pickup with $800 on the windshield that looked somewhat decent...unless I didn't read it right and it was $8000

I thought that the Starliner looked pretty solid. It was a 3 speed. Not sure if the trim was in the trunk .Probably one of the best cars there.I think it was 3800.

56Don- I agree on the Starliner, and always liked those. There was a lot of trim in the car, but the trunk lock was intact, no key.

Here's some more pics of the custom coachwork-bodied Studebaker. For some reason, I though it was neat . It was a H U G E car, bigger than you think- some kind of limo. It was a basket case priced at $4500.

That '35 Studebaker is way overpriced - custom bodywork, or not.

i also was at this sale.hotrod bodies went pretty quick.i guess every one has a opinon. 28 roadster no doors ruff but buildable 600$ 29-31 ton-1/2 truck 500$ 40 ford coupe again ruff but buildable 800,46 coupe 800. on the other hand 2 40 ford coupes rusted to the ground. i thought some good prices on trucks. 59 fleetside v-8 straight shift marked 5 grand, i think2500 would have bought it.it ran and had brakes need tires. t-birds and crown vics were marked a little high but you ALWAYS mark things high. and i was told from a employee that 40 to 60,000 grand for all . there will be auction later in year. lots and lots of y-block stuff(ofcourse) i counted 9 2x4 for y blocks, lots of old car tags.i bought 2 1956 bama plates on the cheap. but like said the man held most of this stuff for 35-40 years. one of the 40 coupes had a 3 inch tree grown thru the cowl vent. 34(?) studebaker was a he****, 50 ford vicky old round track car was kinda neat. some was junk some were tresures.and i'll go back for auction.jmho oh yeah 69 cougar went to fla,guy was tickled to get it, 302 auto, car.would love to have one of the 55-57 birds to put straight axle sbc just to po the purist ford guys.

Sounds like the salvage yard owners were a bit on the greedy side. Too bad about all those Crown Vics, I'd love to get hold of one.

    such a waste...

there's a guy in melbourne here in Oz who's an "enthusiast" for a certain make (non hamb related) of car. He tracks down cars to flip for a buck and when he can't get the outrageous price that he wants, he cuts up (badly I might add) a perfectly good car to separate it for overpriced parts with a lot of perfectly good bits going to the metal recyclers.
    Makes my blood boil...
Sad to see that rag top GTO rusting away...

They had to see people leaving with empty trailers... What better opportunity could come up, car guys with cash money in their pockets and trailers to take cars home?

The word is out, don't think they'll ever get that many potential buyers to take a 2nd look.

This looks like a perfect example of one way an entire lot of 100's of cars gets crushed out.
Sadly, someone later will ask the owners why they crushed/destroyed all those great cars/parts and their reply will be "everyone that looked at them was a cheap *** and didn't want to pay a fair price; we then had to clear the lot and a s****per gave us one price to clear it all and we didn't have to deal with 100 different people trying to **** us around. Screw 'em, they had their chance". They'll never admit folks were snapping piles of Franklin's on their noses.

    Just click the link

    http://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt16/dgkelmocars/Moulton cars/

I went to a yard two weeks ago where the guy had 1054 cars, all about the same rusted to the ground condition, it was really sad.

I posted it on another site and then someone special went and jumped the guys fence and took a lot of pictures.......

Which leads to the other guys pictures......

Maybe it's good that the pictures don't show. From the replies I wouldn't think we are missing too much.

You guys didn't miss anything, it was a waste of time. They just weren't ready to accept reality for what these project cars are really worth. I look at and buy lots of stuff, I'm not new to this.

It's really a shame they didn't get some of it into hands that would get it back on the road.
