Has anyone used or been around the 1930-31 fibergl*** roadster bodies made by these guys: http://www.rrfibergl***.net/fordroaster.htm I had a guy call me that wants to sell me a fresh body and a last refuge hot rod standard A frame. Never been around or built a fibergl*** car. If the price is right around 2k is it worth messing with?
I have built a fibergl*** body car in the end it turned out great. A ton of body work required to make smooth. I used rats gl*** body. Deffinately first and last fibergl*** build
Naah, got that last week fixing the insulation under the house - ha ha. Bab59, since you already said you're "not a fan" of gl***, unless you're getting it just to flip I doubt you'll ever be happy with it - I know I wouldn't. Not bashing gl*** cars, if that's your thing swell. I just know I'd never really be happy with one.
I am doing a coupe now. You will have to install the floor, bond the doors, hinge the trunk and install all of the wood and tubing for support. It will take some time.
2K is cheap for all the work and time, required to produce that roadster body.. I would be interested for that price. They usually go for about 9K, just for a fibergl*** body. I am curious now!
A friend has one up here, He bought it from somebody that never did anything with it,.. I think he might have a deal cooking on it, with a stock Model A frame for a little under 2K.
$9000 for a fibergl*** '30 roadster body? A Brookville '30 roadster is somewhere between 5-6000. What am I missing? I wouldn't be interested in a Model A in fibergl*** when you can get them in steel for a few bucks more. Neal
