    Years ago there was bathroom tile cleaner that cleaned br*** to a like new look in minutes, but it isn't on the market any more. What have you found that works well. I'm about to take my ALGON injection system apart and want to have a cleaner ready to go. Thanks, Bob:)

    I use Muratic acid quite a bit to clean steel and copper or br*** when I need to. Wear rubber gloves and eye protection, the fumes may be a little strong but it doesn't take long for this stuff to work when used full strength. May want to try a small area first to see if you like the results--

    The bathroom tile cleaner was great, just spray it on or soak br*** and it looked new.

    I have a 12 oz. plastic bottle of ‘Tarn-X’ tarnish remover that I use sometimes to brighten up br***, copper, or bronze parts. Wipe it on, cleans instantly – no rubbing, then flush with fresh water.

    For heavy duty cleaning I have a 5-gal. white plastic fuel jug (screw cap with O-ring) with a cleaning solution recommended by Detroit Diesel for cleaning out marine engine coolant systems. The Detroit-Diesel recipe is to mix 1 gal. muriatic acid and 2 gal. water, then add and mix in 10 oz. of oxalic acid powder. My jug has been mixed up for 10 years. I hang part on a wire in the jug. Takes just a few minutes to really clean up, then flush with lots of fresh water. Then cap up the jug for next time.

    Hey, 37kid;

    A factory bike shop showed me: use the thick blue toilet bowl cleaner. Just make sure to rinse real good afterwards.

    I tried it, put my carb parts in a small screen-strainer, dipped them in the blue goo & watched the green moisture/fuel-residue go away from my br*** carb parts. In literally a few seconds. After the water rinse, I used LPS brakeclean to make sure they were spotless. Worked fabulous - & no more horrid carb-cleaner fumes. (cough - cough - etc).

    Looks like I get to do it again this year, as I didn't get any riding in last year. Still, makes a miserable job a lot easier.

    Oh yea, I also used a hypodermic thing, w/o the steel needle, to push the blue goo thru the hair-thin idle p***ageways. Then did the same thing w/water, air pressure, & brakeclean. Was *very* impressed w/the results.

    HTH.

    Marcus...
