My good friend Shawn Woodliff (HAMBr Hot Rodz R Us) p***ed away this morning, losing his battle with colon cancer. He leaves behind a wife and young son.

This is the message from his wife, Tina:

    (Huntsville, AL)

Funeral arrangements for Shawn are: Monday 5-8 visitation, and Tues. 1:00 service, both at the Harbour U.M.C. 172 Commissioner Dr. Meridianville. Just behind Hardee's. All you Hot Rodders, please drive your hot rods in memory of Shawn!

Please keep his family in your prayers as they go through this tough time. Unfortunately, they did not have health insurance and will be paying this off for quite a while. God Bless, Bruce

Very sorry for your loss. If there is any way someone could organize a car show/ fundraiser to help with the medical bills- see if local businesses would be willing to donate food, etc. that can be sold to help raise money. Maybe get in touch with some speed shops and big name manufacturers for donations for raffles.

Also, have the family plead hardship or indigence with the hospitals due to lack of medical insurance. I guarantee there will be a substantial reduction in their fees. I don't mean to intrude during this tough time, just trying to help out.

AL/TN HAMBrs, if you know Shawn, please stop by and pay your respects. Even better if you drive your rod as requested by Tina. I'd be there except I'm in Afghanistan...

I didn't know him, But I will still pray for his family in their time of loss. I lost my Father to cancer 20 years ago when I was young it hits me close to my heart.

I didn't realize he was sick.:( My deepest condolences to his family and freiends. This really bums me out. We hung out at the HHR in Bowling Green not too long ago. He was so sweet, we were standing at the fence at the start line watching the front engine dragsters and I stupidly didn't have ear protection and was taking photos instead of covering my ears. Without even asking he just took his hands and covered my ears each time a car came up to the startline. What a gentleman thing to do. I'm really going to miss him and his friendship.

My condolences go to Shawn's family.

Friends, if you're 40 or older - don't be too proud or embar***ed to GET A COLONOSCOPY. Cancer there will take you in a hurry. I don't imagine it's any fun but a colonoscopy can save your life.
