I was at a swap meet a few weeks back and someone was selling a 2 piece polished aluminum cover that went together and enclosed the complete outside of the center section of a Ford 9 in rear to give the illusion of a quick change. Kinda like a chevy with fake caddy valve covers..but it was really well made. Anyone see these before to know who makes em.?
Yep . They were made by Procar in the 80's . Dad's roadster had one on it when he got it in 1984 ( over a 10 bolt rear ). We sold it last summer at Goodguys swap . We both thought it was kind of gimmicky , as is anything "fake". I don't think Procar is around anymore .
I think the Procar covers looked kinda bulky and klunky. I chose to gut up a s**** Winters center section and graft it on to a roundback nine-incher.
Jerry, Street Performance made them, Formally, Pro Car ,Top Bottom and Rear.. There is one on my Black 32 in my pictures..Have a extra one that I may sell...Jack
Guys: The covers you talk about from Street and Performance are actually made by Woodland Hot Rods . For a while we did some of the machine work for Woodland. I believe Bob still has his patterns and can possibly supply cover to you . The last phone number I had for him was 315 488-9284. Hope this helps
