I have a 55 chevy truck, done in what I would consider a traditional custom style from the 60s. I love the mercs and other customs, especially 47 olds. Always looking for a convertible 47 olds if anyone comes across one. My chevy is nearing the paint stage, I might post some pictures here down the road prior to completion. I have a few newer odds and ends to help with driveability since I plan on it being a driver. Hopefully my fuel injection and IFS doesn't disqualify my participation. I am looking for a good local car club here in Tulsa if anyone can point me towards some members active in this area. This may be more suited to the general forum, but I'll do a search first.
welcome from the Texas coast! I was just working in Tulsa last week at Holly Refining, saw a couple cool old rides out that way. welcome to the h.a.m.b.
Welcome aboard from Edmonds Wa. If people don't like your new tech engine, just keep your hood closed. A lot of us also like dependability. Let's see some pics...
I just moved up from Houston this summer, lived there for the past 10 years. I lived in town, so maybe was out of the scene, but was always frusturated with the lack of customs and rods there. Used to do the Tomball Kroger cruise night in a 69 camaro. My new neighborhood here has a nice tri five and a pristine 32.
Here is sort of where we started. I'll post some more later but there has been a LOT of progress since these. I just don't want to give away the surprise yet. It's currently in bare metal, bodywork has just started. Paint should be started around easter. After that, will get engine and ****** rebuilt and tuned. Then upholstery and it should be ready to drive. Hoping to be on the road this summer. Big unresolved items, paint color, upholstery color, wheels/caps.
