Im going to throw this out there see if any has had any experience with it. I have a Ingersoll Rand 185 diesel compressor I use to sandblast (old car parts- that's the on-topic part) and it has always leaked from the oil sight gl*** that supplies oil to the compressor. Never been a problem, I just fill it up all the time, but now its leaking a bit more. The gasket is probably in bad shape for sure. It seams easy enough to remove the screws take out the gl*** replace the gasket, but this is an older IR and the last thing I need is to get stuck without knowing what I need if the gasket is chewed up. Anyone ever deal with something like this before? Any help or tips are appreciated.
I'd say take it apart and see what you have, if unsure...then it looks like the fittings there are most likely NPT...you could then just pickup a few 90 dgree **NPT to ** flare (compression) fittings and a length of clear tubing and swage it up.
That sight gl*** looks a lot like a water gauge on the steam boilers in my building. Check around your area for someone who sells repair parts for commercial/light industrial HVAC stuff. Know anyone who works for Trane or Honeywell? Later, *****6
see if any of these are the right size to replace yours. http://www.mcmaster.com/#gauge-gl***-washers/=bgio43
