I have a 350HP 350 Chevy in my 39' Hotrod (No air). I've had good luck with Diehard batteries the last 22 years. The current Diehard (#37062 w/ 750CCA) lasted 10 years. It doesn't turn over well after it's hot and the charging system, wires and Alternator are in good shape. I don't want to buy a million dollar battery for my ride. Any preferences on batteries out there?

$47 at walmart. They last 5 years for me, then I replace them, whether or not they need it. Preventative maintenance.

Do what you want but the battery is one area on all of my cars and trucks that I don't skimp.

I have had good luck with the Walmart batteries that have been in my cars in the past though.

Sorry for this but you made me laugh. My grandfather used to say "Battrey". He also said "erl" and "terlet".

The battery on my 62 just died. I hadn't been battery shopping in a while and needed a size 34. Went to Auto Zone, Walmart and Advance Auto Parts. All were in the $100 range. Heard a lot of good things about Costco batteries and bought one for $69.99. Comes witha 3 year replacement and prorated for 100 months which was better then the other three.

i use oreilly's decent prices and damn good warranty

  9. Unless you have some severe electrical loads like with a high powered stereo system...no need to get a crazy high end battery. Have had good luck with walmart and autozone batteries. Get one with a good replacement warranty.

I had a walmart battery go bad on me at 3 yrs and 2 months with a 3 yr free replace plus prorated period thereafter. So even though it was technically outside of the 3yr period they still took some off of the price of the replacement battery.

I just replaced the battery in my OT daily driver at autozone (Duralast). And it was (I think) $80 but it wasn't the cheapest they had.

Are you sure it's the battery and not the infamous sbc starter heat soak problem?

I think you answered your own question. Stick with what you have.

  12. Just for grins you could take the battery in to get checked and see if it is maybe the starter issue or something else that wingman9 mentioned.

I the battery is 10 years old, you want to replace it anyways...then see if you need to fix the rest of the system. Batteries do have a limited life span.

Walmart, peel off the stickers and save them. If it goes bad put the stickers back on and return.

Is this a new problem? Sounds like starter/hot soak problem more than battery problem.

I agree with Scrubba...................Interstate, you can get a warranty replacement all over the country if it fails while on a road trip.

walmart (and other low buck brand) batteries are cheap and reliable enough that I never screw with the warranty. If it dies early, buy a new one. If it lasts all 5 years, buy a new one.

Some of the stuff sold under the Duralast name is ****, but the batteries are actually quite good.

  24. If im on a budget i go with Interstate. If i can ill get an Optima. I like those for cold weather climates.

I work for AAA and we sell batteries off of our tow trucks... I always tell people that all batteries are basicly (except for gl***mat and such ) the same most of the price difference is the warranty... my fav is the good ol blemish battery from your local battery warehouse..but if your going for a crazy mount sideways upside down i dont see the need to get crazy with a 400.00 battery

Diehard hasn"t let you down for 22 years, stick to something that gives good service. Really sounds more like a starter problem.

Since you live in Florida and never really have to worry about deep freezes or long cold winters , then either go to Hell Mart for a cheap one or I like Die Hard battery's . I have owned both and live in Pa and haven't had any problems with either one yet .
I have heard good and bad about the 6 pack battery's but for the price of them they should last forever !

Just get the biggest battery you can get in the space you have to install one . Always keep it cleaned and fully charged and you will be fine .
Keeping a battery fully charged is the best thing you can ever do !

Isn't this what a thief does to steal from a business ?
People like you cost us all more money in the long run !

BTW , you still need the receipt that shows you bought it and didn't STEAL it !
