Photos please. I am looking for ideas on redoing the interior of my '31 coupe. Looking for ideas on how folks have done the sides behind the doors and the back wall of their cars. Thanks.

Thanks. I am trying to figure out the "break" under the quarter windows. Nice car.

Thanks. I could use a few more examples.

  9. Although not a 31, I did the same area in my avatar just a little different. Since there is so little storage for all the little items you seem to have to have around, I used some tupperware bins mounted behind the panel. The bins have a lip around them so once you have the proper openng and have set up a way to screw it into the panel, you remove the bin, upholster it, upholster the panel and screw the bin on. Here are a couple pics during the build ...

I'm not the best upholsterer but I am cheap - LOL - besides, the theme of the car is an early 50s "home-build" with limited tools, money, etc. Once the seat and everything is in the car it all looks pretty good as the last pic shows.

Interesting. I wonder how it would look if you did all one style of plate from one state-or, how about all "engine turned" panels?

Still, I'd like to see some more quarters done in a slightly more traditional style.

Thanks. I find it an interesting detail that your headliner appears to continue down to the door level and the top of the rear window molding. Do the pleats continue under the quarter windows? And, is that quarter all one piece or is there a seam at the top of the pleat line?

Wow now I can't remember the answers to all your questions but will pull the car cover and look. The quarters under and around the window is aluminum and continues to the bulkhead between the trunk and front, will look before answering anymore lol
