camaro front clip transplants(prolly old question)

just got a camaro front clip from a friend, iwant to put it on my 47 dodge club coupe.Any pictures of how or where to cut it weld it, or any kind of help would be really apprecieted. was talking to a guy here at work and told me like 3 different ways to do it, so now i am more confused.

I put one of those under a 52 chevy car.
I can give you some ideas good or bad.
First when you remove the fender measure to the center of wheel from good place near the door area,or adjust if you want to move it but right it down and don,t lose it.To keep x in right location.
I slide it back to were the car frame was on top of camaro sub frame it was about same width .welded it there both sides then welder it up to joint to frame together.I tryed to get the body to rest on were it goes down on camaro few inches back from upper frame,so body weight was there.I used some rubber engine mounts.I welder that on and reinforsed it as i,m no welder.There are lots of way i did it that way to get the height about were i wanted it.Its well worth the time it takes.Good Luck.

 

i did my last sub frame the same way. use the whole sub and lay your frame on top of it. get wheelbase right, check your frame for square by measure it in a "x". and then weld it up and gusset it. work great and you can use camaro transmission crossmember.

 

Thats how I did my 51 F1 also......

 

I'm putting one in my '41 Plymouth club coupe which has the same frame as your '47. At least i think it does...

It was actually really easy. Slid right in. It's not fully fabbed up yet but it's measured out and tacked together. Check out my build thread:

dont use it.

if youre determined to use it narrow it, or get an s10 clip.

 

yeah i heard i would have to narrow it 3",then somebody told me it depends on tire wheel combo i would use???

 

If you're planning on running the car low, narrow it. I did a 54 Plymouth, and no matter what wheels we ran, even with narrowed A frames, the tires were rubbing the fenders.
