I just went and looked at the car. Forgot to take pics :( but i can describe it. It is SOLID! Couldn't find any rust on it. The paint is real bad and so is the fabric in the interior but all the trim and everything is there. It runs and drives, still 6V. All the windows work and all the glass is there. What kind of price would you put on something like this? Thanks is advanced.

If it has a clean title and the chrome is nice that'd probably bring around 4K up here. There are lots of 4 door project cars around but running and driving doubles the value easily.

Does "runs and drives" mean road worthy, or just that the engine starts and the trans shifts? You could give or take $2K from my price depending on variables that you haven't stated yet.

im told you can take it to the store, what ever that means. Hasn't been registered since 82' but has a clear CA title. chrome looks good. he says that he would move it every once in awhile.

The least the person will take.
Don't make anybody mad though & damn sure don't mention what you will have to do to it.

the guy is trying to decide how much he is looking for...... He kept on telling me how "rare" the car was so he probably has a big pipe dream on a price for it.

look up the production numbers..then you have some ammo against his "rare" call.

The only reason it's "rare" is cuz there ain't many left around...

Bought one a few years ago that sounds similar in condition for 1,500.00

    1500 -2500 is about right

Is it a white one down here? If so I think he wanted 4800.. Like already stated find production numbers and check out eBay and find all you can about that type of cadillac and make a long speech of how the car needs work and how much money you need to put into it for it to be cherry and offer him 3000 cash and don't pay more than 3500.. If it's another one then in this economy low balling seems to work well!

My theory on 4 doors, they cost just as much to fix up as a 2 door and are worth half as much when done, maybe less.

I wouldn't give more than $1500-$2500 for a duplex. I guess it just depends on you tastes.

  19. If its more than you want to spend and not really what you want.....you answered your own questions.

Walk away and find something you DO want.

well, then would it even matter if it was $500? if it's not what you want, move on and get what you do want.

If it was $500 I'd buy it. Just to be able to cruise around in and add another one to the collection. I'm really on the look out for a 59-60 Parkwood Wagon though.

Desert Car Kings rebuilt one on tonights episode. The boss changed his mind about selling it and ended up giving it to his wife as a present.

Speaking from experience, If it's not "THE" car your looking for. Don't buy it. Especially if it's a Cadillac. You would think that all the parts would be the same as an early Chevy.... not true. Take the price of rebuilding a chevy and at least double it! Although it's cool to cruise in a Caddy, it will cost you to do so.
