Driving a 39 Ford truck near Santa Rosa and the radiator mount got loose and leaned back into the fan. Gouged a nice groove and emptied out the water pretty fast. Darn

Anybody got a recommendation for a good fast re-core shop ?

    Thanks gang.

The problem also is that it is a 39 car hauler so can't easily be towed. About 10 minutes out of town. He has got to rig it to get it there or pull it out with no tools.

Call Bozo's Garage and Wrecker Service (no joke) (575) 472-3368. He is in Santa Rosa, and a hot rodder from way back.

I had a similar episode when I had my flathead 40 coupe. Something hit the fan, bent the blade to a right angle & cut a large, deep 'corn circle' in the rad, just like yours!!:( Also it cut large chunks out of the upper & lower hoses!! Really ****s when that happens!!

I hate owning old cars that I didn't build, there's always something that needs to be re- done, for instance all the radiator mounts had no nylocks or lock washers. Hence the failure. When I get back to the shop I'll go through the entire truck and check every nut.

And yes, this is the new Bonneville hauler. I traded in my Nissan ***an for her. Now the newest car I own is 1949. Yup, I'm a little nuts.

    Cool old truck Bobby!

I had a similar thing happen on my F100 coming back from the Roundup a few years back. I got a good tip from Elpolacko and folded each leaking tube up like a roll of toothpaste with some needle-nose, pulled the fan, and added a 1/2 can of black pepper from the local greasy s**** and hit the road back to Phoenix. Drove the next 10 hours without a hiccup!

Bobby, glad your situation is under control. I like the new hauler! You should drive it down for the Roundup! ;)
