    '31's are way cooler. I'd just tell people it's a '31.:)

I was never sure if my coupe was a 30 or 31 and this information was very helpful, however, since my ***le says mine is a 31, thats what it is, regardless of what it REALLY is. Great information.

That car has a '30 grille shell. I always thought the teardrop firewall was 1930 also.

The rain gutter support channels on my coupe are attached to the fenderwells, not the subrails. It's a '30 model...

The late 31 indented firewall and matching fuel tank were also available as a set to dealers so they could repair leaking fuel tanks on all 30 and 31 models, so some 30 and early 31 cars could also have the indented firewall.

Just call it a 1930 and it will be a 100 years old one year earlier....

if you read the whole post, there are differing things about my car to make me think both.

did they start puting the firewall reinforcments in in may of 31 when they also recieved the indented firewall???? or do all 31s have those reinforce ments?

on the rear by the front of the trunk lid, there are 2 supports, somebody mentioned that if the go all the way down the the floor support its a 30, if they go the the fenderwell its a 31. mine go to the fenderwell.

thats what make me think mine is a early 31. since it didnt come with any paper work, a frame or motor, i cant just run the numbers. and i know my grill is a 30.

i think ill just call it a 31, maybe its both, lol. thanks for all the great info from everybody, it was very helpful. here soon ill have some updates on my car for you all.

It will be interesting to note how you go about getting it ***led. 30 or 31 really makes no difference in the overall scheme of things.

    nice project
