Hi. So, I've found my dream car. Problem: Its in texas..i'm in canada. My parents said.."You figure out a reasonable way to get it here, we can talk"
    Oh boy...
Does anyone have any idea of what it would cost to get a car from texas to a northern state or even canada? like maybe north dakota/montana? Or even if you have any ideas of getting it here? Its got no engine or ******.
ANY ideas or info would help.
Also..I realise I dont post often, but I come here everyday as I'm addicted to this site!
Chances are this wont work out..but I gotsta try. ever just seen a car and wanted it so bad your heart stops? lol
    Appreciate any help...

I'm not sure if they do international, but you mentioned some northern states for drop offs. I've used them on a transport from CA to Seattle before and it was pretty cheap. But gas prices have skyrocketed since then. Also, for any transporter (unless you work some good guy HAMB deal or something) will require you to be there when it gets dropped off. They have a "get a quote" link you can get that they e-mail you.

  3. Can it be driven? Would it make that far? Sometimes you can find some folks that would drive it. Never know.

Where in Texas? I might be going to the Black Hills with an empty trailer when school gets out. Just a stones throw from South-eastern Montana. I could probably arrange to leave it at my Sisters place in Belle Fourche, S.Dak. until you could get it. She has 37 acres on the edge of town so it wouldn't be in the way for a reasonable time.

where in texas is important.... it's an 8 hour drive from one end to the other....
If it's nearby Houston I could put it in the shop for a while as you figure out your shipping....I would bet other Hamb-ers would do the same...so you do have time to figure shipping out....

Hi again guys.. so, is anyone near tyler, texas who could maybe store this car for me for a little while? Its not for sure yet that I am getting the car, as its an ebay ad so I gotta figure things out ahead of time. My parents said they'll donate $500 to my cause..
If i can get it stored than maybe I can slowly work it up to montana or north dakota, where I could then go pick it up...
    We'll see how it turns..
    Thanks for your help!

Hey Mang - I'd say try to find a trailer you could rent or borrow. Any family members with trailers at all? then . . . ROAD TRIP!!!!! get a few buddies and head on down!

I'm in Beaumont. I could store it here depending on how long it takes to get it to Ben or one of the other hamb members.

  13. I've shipped with Car on a Truck. They can handle a nonrunner. They have a free online quote service. Shipping costs have gone way up since I last used them but I was thoroughly satisfied with their service all three times that I used them.

Or get in touch with BenD here.

    Question for you Sir.....

Just how special is this car you want? You are going to spend a lot of dough and energy getting this rolling project home. Is it worth the trouble?

I don't know what the cool car percentage is up in Saskatchewan but Tyler TX is a long way to go for anything.

Sorry for the unsolicited advice. I know everyone hates getting it. I quess I'm asking "Is this trip really necessary?"

I'm just no fun anymore. Go for it. You'll learn about places that you didn't even know existed, meet nice folks who will enrich your life, and gain a keen appreciation of the way business is transacted from place to place around the world.

its a one-of-about 10 or 15 built....just trying to see if its at all possible for me...the guy selling it said HE can probably hold it for a month.. another thing is how high the bid goes, and that will also of course be a large factor in possibility...
    We'll just see i guess...

Tyler is about 2 hours from me...getting it here is the problem... I've got a 40X40 shop it could sit in for several months. I'd say if the guy will hold onto it for a month you have the time to arrange things....and someone will help. the Dallas guys are closer
