just curious what type of money you guys are paying to have your gl*** cut down after you chop your coupes. specifically in the NW area. should be picking up a little 31 coupe here in a bit and i'm trying to get an idea of what type of money i can expect to pay. also, some have suggested replacing the gl*** with more modern safety type gl*** rather than cutting down the original. are you guys doing that?

    thanks for any info.

I provided the windshield (got it cheap w/ a blemish on the part I was going to cut off), and patterns only for the 3 back windows, and paid about $50.00. Also, it is all the modern type of auto gl***.

I paid $50 for a new cut windshield, and $40 for rear and rear side gl***. Gl*** shops around here wont cut original gl*** as its not safe and they wont be liable for it .

I have a chopped '33 Ford truck cab, but the windshield is virtually identical to the Model A. I paid $95 for them to cut the gl*** & install it in my frame (which I was ****tin' bricks about). I did make a template out of luanne plywood, which I test fit in the frame prior to their cutting of the gl***. In other words, I ultimately took the fitment responsibility, but they were pros enough to get in the frame in one piece...they probably saw the terror in my eyes.

i pay nothing.......my company, specifically me, gove my gl*** shop a lot of work, so, any flat gl*** i get free......he has tons of remnants of flat gl*** and just hooks me up, but i wouldn`t expect it to be very expensive...maybe 20 bucks a window.....

A local place wanted $90 for my rear gl*** (31 A pickup): that's gl*** and cutting, but I'm also in the city which is a little expensive. Since I needed every piece, I ordered through http://bobscl***icautogl***.com. they are a HAMB Alliance vendor and offer 10% off flat gl***.

According to their website, a 5W coupe is $345
http://app.vendio.com/storefront?view=ITEM_DETAIL&cid=11344500&lid=139238640&mode=1. And based on my conversations with them, you can pick the tint and they cut to size, based on your templates, for that price.

That said, I haven't gotten my gl*** yet or seen the final bill, but you might want to give them a call.

I am using the rear gl*** from a 72 pickup cab. It is flat, cheap and safety. I will tell you when I get it cut.

  10. ...and then you took it to the gl*** shop to get it laminated or tempered right???
