I am having trouble finding a tall finned cover to fit the motor. The only covers that clear the girdle are edelbrock elite talls. Not really a fan. Want a finned cover. I have a set of cl***ic finned with a 1" spacer that clear. 2pc or 1 pc, better? here is the motor:
Here's a few pictures of a set of Mickey Thompson valve covers that I have. ( not for sale) They are 3 1/4" tall, maybe something like these would work for your application.
The elites measure out at 4 5/8", the other vintage 'brocks are 3.25" as well and need the 1" spacer. may end up welding the cover to the spacer and then smoothing them in. Seems like a pain in the ***. Anyone know of finned covers out there over 4" tall?
a suggestion, you can mill the edelbrock off the valvecovers, make or have a aluminum 1/4" plate made with chevrolet or some other logo and glue it into the vacated edelbrock space. Probab;y won't cost much more or anymore than a new set of covers. Good luck on what ever route you take. Gary
Don't run the girdle? I don't know what your runnin, but I have run some pretty healthy spring pressures with poly locks alone, and have never had a problem. Just an idea?
Parr Automotive has a very tall "Cal Custom" looking valve cover for the SBC reasonably priced, I have a pair on my BBC that clear the Jomar stud girdle.
If you just google finned covers for roller rockers you should see a bunch, they won't say edelbrock but otherwise look the same, I think we speedway has them to.where did you get your spacers?
