Will I be able to keep my vacuum wipers or is manifold vacuum lower on triple manifold? Thanks for your time Lee<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
What you really want is a "reserve tank". You need at least 1 gallon of capacity which will give you about 15 seconds of extra wiper time. Bigger is better. An old welding tank is over kill and HEAVY, but you need something that won't be sucked in by the vacume. Try finding a piece of schedule 40 or thicker, PVC pipe 6-10 inches in diameter and 2 end caps, drill and tap a hole in the endcap (it's usually thicker than the pipe) install a "T" and one line to your vacume source and one to the wiper motors. Adding a 1 way valve to the suction side prevents your "reserve" from being re-pressurize when the throttle is wide open and then there is actually higher pressure in the manifold which wants to fill the vacume. You can strap it to the fenderwell for easy removal if your going to a show. This worked great on my old 48 Merc - too bad I sold it. Fat Fenders Forever!
