Hello HAMB! My name is Ruthann.

I bought a 4 door powder blue 6 cylinder 62 Nova when I was 16 years old. I did not have permission from my mom, but I went down to one of the car lots on the wrong side of town and bought the Nova from a shady little Mexican car lot. Drove it home and my mom flipped out. She took me back to the car lot and yelled at them for signing a contract with a 16 year old. They agreed to buy the car back, but I didn't want to give it up. The resolution is that they would fix all the lights, and that was that. So they threw a couple dozen butt connectors at it, and the lights worked for about a week. They're out of business now, by the way.

I ended up eventually rebuilding the engine, and eventually getting it painted, and the original interior was pretty nice already. So my friends and I cruised that thing like crazy through the end of high school.

At the end of high school, I enlisted in the national guard, where I was a light wheeled vehicle mechanic (diesel mechanic). I came home from boot camp to find a non-running Nova After getting it running again, I started to get a little bored with it. So I sold it to buy a 64 Bug. Then sold that to buy another VW, and after a half a dozen or so VWs, I got out of old cars for a little while. Up until recently. My husband and I just bought a 58 Chevy Biscayne 4 door, with a 283 and bellflower tips with no other mufflers. We have a 2 year old little girl, so we wanted a cool family cruiser to take her to car shows and cruise nights. It's a project, but I am pretty pumped about it. It was already lowered with chopped springs, and painted in oxide red primer, and the whole interior was missing. Here are a few pictures of it from when we first bought it:

Abby loves it!! And as you can see, most of the interior is missing. The front seat is out of a 62 Chevy, and the rear is out of a 59. I would be stoked to find the correct pair of seats for it.

I'm going to start a thread about it to show our progress with the project. And I am excited to hear any input you guys might have. It's great to have such a knowledgeable resource like this on the internet! Thank you guys!
