A friend of mine says this is a tail light from a 36 ford. does anyone know for sure? Also what would be a good asking price?

Not a 36 Ford could be any other Ford product, looks to me like a Ford truck, yr unknown, I have similar style on my '52 Ford PU, best look at Ford catalogs, Dennis Carpenter or others, since they are rather universal in style.

Looks like it maybe a '33 to '36 pick up truck, or a model A hard to tell with just 1 pic.

If the body and ring are stainless, it is 33/34 car, if the body is painted and the ring is stainless, it is 35/36 car and if all painted it cold be 33 to 48 pickup and delivery. Probably about $25.00

If it has DUOLAMP stamped into the body it is a Ford lamp. The rim appears to be chrome-plated and the red lens is definitely not an original Ford one so it may just be an aftermarket replacement lamp.
With studs and nuts at the back for mounting it would be a pickup application.
