So I was originally going to run a 350 in the bucket. But a great deal on a 305 and a turbo 350 combo just came up. Anyone have any thoughts?

Dress up like an old motor and go. It will have enough zip. for the light car you are putting it in. These have a torque to them. Do not over cam it. You will be fine. You will hear a couple of 'bitcher;s' come on and tell the motor sux. Screw that crew, save the cash-run the combo!

I have a 305 in mine, plenty of zip. Plus, the way fuel is now - that extra mile or two won't hurt. Changing the engine in a year or two will be nothing in a bucket if you decide to go big later.

I have ran them. In a light car it should be fun. You can always swap a 350 in later.

My thoughts too. Keep in mind that a T-Bucket is less than half the weight of the cars that the 305 was designed to pull. If it hits on all eight cylinders, it'll be a blast.

305-s run fine but run out of rev-s quick ... I would use the stock cam and have fun with it ... if you want more zip then go to 350

you can't put too big of a motor in a bucket - they don't make them! - the bigger, the better
