It would really help to know what kind of car you're working on!

  7. Vinnie,

I see from you profile you are working on a 52 Chevy. The best price I found when I was doing my 50 was from Truck and Car shop in Orange Cal.

The******** girls that answer the phone can get you frustrated but their prices are real good. Another option is going with a 65/66 Mustang tank. Cut a hole in the trunk floor, drop it in and bolt it up. You will however, have to change your fuel guage since Ford and Chevy work at different OHMs. Hope this helps, Todd

Tanks,Inc makes good tanks-but don't buy direct-too difficult and unfriendly. Buy from a dealer and you'll know your tank is in stick. I like Yogi's.

As mentioned, Tanks Inc or Chevs of the 40's.

I buy from a lot of stuff from Jegs.
I don't go for "Free shipping" that Summit trys to con you with, because they have a "Sneaky" handling charge!

I'm not sure why it's "sneaky" they're right upfront about it. And, it's less than lots of other places "shipping" fees. I just paid $10 for $5 worth of kitchen faucet parts-but only one place had them.

    Here's Summit's "hidden" policy:

    Domestic Shipping
We provide standard ground delivery at no additional charge and without rural fees to the contiguous 48 states. In-stock parts ordered by 9:00 PM EST ship the same day via ground service.

    Delivery and Handling
Delivery and handling on all orders (including APO/FPO) is non-refundable and based on your order subtotal. It’s a big benefit to buy everything at once (delivery and handling is a lot cheaper than actual shipping costs), but you can’t plan for emergencies, so the cost is lower for smaller orders.
    Order Total Handling Fee
    $0.00-$24.99 $4.95
    $25.00-$99.99 $9.95
    $100.00-$249.99 $11.95
    $250.00 and higher $12.95
