Jean and I went on Sunday rather than Saturday as I was waiting for a guy to call me on an ot car that I want to buy.
We headed out from T town at 09:00 and went south over Satus Pass and hit snow on the pass.
We got to the Expo Center at about 1:00 or so after taking an unplanned side trip along the Vancouver water front and waiting for the I-5 Vancouver bridge to open after letting a container ship go through.
After handing over 38 bucks for parking and show fees we were in.

I don't know the young guy but think he and his dad have a similar truck project at home from overhearing them talk.

Ot But I want one. Factory 5 GTM kit car using all C6 Corvette pieces with a Porsche trans. Probably the best fit and finish of any kit car I have ever seen.

Jean fell in love with this one.

The Expo center is a great venue for the show and it was more like three car shows in one being in three buildings with the theme cars and so called movie cars (mostly bad clones) stuck of in the third building.
No filler cars in the first two buildings and every car worthy of being in those buildings either do to being first rate examples of the style they represent or being hell for interesting.
Every car had plenty of room to be displayed at it's best with great lighting in the two main buildings.
Wife was upset because she couldn't find any wine though.

I bought some little blue bullet lights from Gene Winfield and a print from one of the booths along with a Purple 41 Willys model for my daughter that she took to work this morning to set on her desk.

I have about 200 photos here that include the OT stuff and these same photos. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Rob-D/2011 Portland Roadster show/ For those who want to see more than the traditional cars.

Thanks for posting. I'm not sure what you didn't shoot but I like the stuff that you did. I didn't know what a hot bed Post Falls was for Purple prewar Fords.

Thanx for the pics. My favorite car there, was the white model A truck.
The white '62 Nova belongs to a buddy of mine named Jeff Andrews, and the pair of N20 powered Camaro's is another racer friend of mine named Paja.

Does any one know who the big winners were? The red 40 coupe is my pick, and the gold 32 three window would be my second pick. Great pictures. Thanks

Well I think he needs to get out there and organize a real "roadster show", and stop belly aching about it. :)

The purple 34 almost makes me wish I went. Thanks for the shots! Anyone know if the "Take out T" will be back on the west side this summer at any shows? I need to seeeeee it.

Here's my few pics. Nothing that hasn't been posted already, but what the hell. I took these during setup, mine is the Model A. Took best in class! It was a great show, and what a blast! The day I was supposed to drive the car up to set it up for the show...wouldn't start. Dad finally talked me into putting it on a trailer and taking it up there. That didn't sit well with me. I take pride in the fact that Dad and I built a driver. I've driven that car from Salem Oregon to Long Beach Wa. (160 miles one way) several trips to portland, and I've been over 100 mph in that car. So the pic of my car on a trailer stings a little. Oh well at least I was there and had a blast! And hung out with some great people!

Dude, we have all been there. I don't like the idea of my T being on a trailer or take pride in the fact that my car has been....once, after I blew a tire on I-405 on my way to the shop.

You and I for one, have both have earned our "wings" for the distances and weather conditions in which we drive our cars, that is for sure.

once in a "blue moon" because you HAVE TO is ok...don't sweat it my friend :D

  28. Yes it will, last time I talked to Russ (DoubleTubTrouble) he was planning on showing the Take Out T at Billetproof Chehalis in June, Goodguys Puyallup in July, Hot Rod a Rama in August, and the East vs. West Flathead Run in Vantage, WA in September.

Just pulled my head out of my ass and realized who it belongs too. (He bought some art from me before and we're "friends" on here). Durrr. Sounds like I'll have plenty of opportunities this summer to check it out. Thanks!
