Hi! I'm looking for some info for this model T hot rod for my friend. It has been featured in some early magazine maybe 1959-62 era. Any idea what magazine and which number. Also looking for past owner/s from Santa Cruz area as well as original builder/s Car has been featured in this Hop Up special number #3.
Didn't the story say the "finder" would never sell since his grandfather turned out to be one of the original builders? And now it's in Finland? And how do you not know the builders' names, since they are in the story? Look them up in the phone book. Or email Mark Morton via Hop Up magazine online.
Most useful info at this point would be possible magazine feature according present owner. I don't know if said it wrong but, I wasn't looking about names but their contact info. Any place to check Ca phonenumbers or adresses online?
UPDATE :<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o> </o> It seems like this went in the wrong direction names are in the story, we got that, and the owner is trying to get some kind of contact ...meanwhile <o> </o> The reason for all of this is that the owner needs some kind of original do***entation from the era the car was built. Original polaroids or the rumoured magazine feature. This is all for a closer step trying to get the car legally on the road here in Finland. This is the only way and that is a fact, without destroying it. What mags existed back then in that area? Anyone collected those or something. Anything. I have no idea what we´re asking, im only a messenger here amoungst others. <o> </o> Ok , so this might be like searching for a needle in a haystack but he needs these do***ents badly. All help appreciated.
Same situation with a guy in Germany I sold a hot rod to. He had to establish its provenance as an 'historical' car - built more than a decade ago....history with photos, if possible. I wrote a nice treatise on the 'ground-up' build with sidetrips on engine changes, etc. Never heard back, so I ***umed that was sufficient. I had commented about what a PIA that must be, and his response is that the Scandinavian countries are even tougher - ergo...the OP's problem in trying to find do***entation of early history. Best of luck, Janne dj
Will push this BTTT for you guys, as we now have the same issues in Australia, car need to be do***ented as having been modified prior to 1989 or you can't even get it into the country!
Why do you keep calling it the RUMORED magazine article. You must have it! That makes it ACTUAL not rumored. Isn't that enough do***ention?
Rumoured because some of the past owners have said that and it's not known which magazine/what number.
