Has anyone on HAMB seen one of these fuel injection air ducts lately? It's for a '59 Chevrolet and is shaped like a sideways parking meter. Any ideas ,or leads, would greatly be appreciated. I will pay you a $200.00 finder's fee if I can find, and buy one. Thanks Mike........ hemifarris@aol.com

Go to a truck, ag or industrial supply store. That is used to plumb a remote Donaldson type air cleaner to the carb. I have used them on many farm trucks.

Actually, my IQ is pretty high. It doesn't take brains to work your *** off all your life in order to buy nice things. I just love my cars. I'm 65 and worked my nuts off all my life to support my habit. I'm not a smoker, or a drinker. My family comes first, followed by my faith then my beloved cars..........:)

I've never seen one, except in pictures. I wish that one was under the hood of my 59 Belair, though. Oh well.....Guess that I'll have to settle for a tri-power 348. :D:D:D

My best friend, Al Bergler, could easily duplicate an original one. He's built dragster bodies all his life(he's 73). Problem is that you need a part to copy. Chevrolet only built less than 30 p***enger cars with factory fuel injection so finding an air duct that someone will loan you are slim.
MANY THANKS to 'Oldb" as I think he may have come up with the solution.

I would think someone who can weld (I envy them, because I never could) could easily fabricate one out of aluminum.

Electrical supply houses have electrical conduit in all shapes and sizes. You know the critical dimensions (attaching area to F.I. and attaching area to flex tube).

Try K&N filters. I have a cast aluminium piece that looks like that only for a Weber 36/32DVG left over from my Mustang race car.

Did you check with Al Maynard? I'd be surprised if he didn't have a couple. Tracy Performance or Terry Rosebush might be able to steer you in the right direction. Maybe put a want ad in Hemmings?

I've known those guys for 30 years, Maynard 40. I've also put an ad in Hemmings. By the way, Al Maynard is not doing very well healthwise....Mike

If you're not looking for OEM, this Spectre plenum looks pretty close. There's also one that's not low-profile

Hellfish, I'm actually going to use that same piece. I'll powdercoat it silver to match the original and use it until I find an original....Thanks,Mike
