http://texashideout.tripod.com/warrencar.html Here's some pretty interesting info on Bonnie and Clyde and the "Warren Car".
i saw that car back in the early 70s. it came thru dyersburg tn.just a car with alot of holes. but the history is cool as hell.
No way, really? I didnt know that. and i bet a lot of rat rodders in this state dont know that either...hahahha same goes with the cops. if you can will you find the code or statute and put it up on here? I wish they would include those stupid bullet hole stickers too
When the Bonnie & Clyde car was displayed at the Detroit Autorama in the 70's(or maybe early '80s) they were forced to remove it due to the law I mentioned. A few years ago I read the regulation directly from a copy of the Michigan Vehicle Code book. The book was a few years old at the time. I ***ume that regulation hasn't changed. Sorry, I don't have the reference number of the statute. I know a couple people who have driven cars with bullet holes and not been bothered. And like you say, most of the cops probably don't know it's illegal. I always wondered about that law and why people needed protecting from cars with bullet holes. The way the law is written, license plate frames are illegal in Michigan too. That means most of the people on the road could be ticketed. The state is looking for ways to make money. Maybe that will be next. $50+ from almost every car on the could raise a lot of money(or dissension).
Everytime I drive to and from Vegas, I make a pitstop at the stateline so I saw the car many times. It was cool to be able to get a really close look at it with all the ventilation holes and dried blood. I wondered what happened to it since it wasn't at the stateline the past few years and thanks to the article, now I know. I wonder if they still have Al Capones Cadillac.
