Any body on here a the "one owner" and have a few pics of yesteryears and today? I always wonder that about alot of you rodders that never could let go of a car.
Not quite a "One Owner",but I bought my 65 Comet in the spring of 67.Still have it,never selling it,still racing it!! ROY.
choptop50;I bought the Comet while in the Army in Kansas, from the original owner,Yes,I know the car like the back of my hand!!! I will be at the Strip in May for the Heritage Race,Rockabilly Reunion, come on by and say hello. ROY.
I still have the '65 Chevy step side that I bought in June , 1976 ! My youngest daughter will be 29 yrs old in May and I've had the truck 6 years longer than she has been on this earth !
Sweet! I wouldn't have guessed that Comet belonged to a HAMBer. Your car is the reason why I picked up that copy. First copy of Car Craft I've gotten in years too..
My 62 Fairlane came from the original owner. Have every piece of paper ***ociated with the car, including the build sheet, window sticker, delivery papers, and sales contract. He paid a whopping $2846.65 for it and took delivery on Nov 17 1961.
I know this is not HAMB friendly but I bought my 1960 Norton in '67 and still have it. It currently holds its cl*** record at El Mirage. Will I sell it? Doubtful.
i am not old enough for this thread but i still have two of the cars i bought before i turned 18 and one was a one owner with 21000 miles (67 vw bettle) not hamb friendly but shows the attachment to cars. I'M 33 NOW
My wife still has the '68 Camaro she bought in 1974. The car was the Chevrolet Sales Managers car at the dealership here in Renton Washington for three years then sold to a girl in West Seattle. My wife purchased the car as her first car and has had it since. It's a '68 Standard Coupe with the original 327, Powerglide, Black Bucket seat Console interior. Still a great car today...........
being an emeritus of the OFC i had to point out the car in my profile was bought befroe most of you were born and i couldn't part with it! we are finally spending a few miles together!
my dad bought his 30 coupe from the original family in 71 i drive it almost 3 days a week in the warmer months i was born in 78 i guess that makes me the 3rd care taker tk
My '57 was a one-owner, one driver. Found it in a barn in Indiana, 43,000 miles.\ Chevy Shop Roger still has his first car. A one-owner '55 he bought in '67. Getting it ready to go out after a long sleep now.
Still have my original A coupe, got it for my 15th birthday in1966, restored in high school. nope wouldn't sell it.
I've still got my 62 Valiant that I bought off my Dad in 63. It's got 152,000 miles on it now. And I've still got my '24 T bucket that I started building in 62. Also still got the 32 phaeton that I bought in 66 but a lot of it's bits ended up on #1 son's 32 roadster LOL
Well I bought my 66 Mustang in October of 1965 and still have and after 46 years have no intention of selling it. My 51 truck has been in the family 30+ years and just a few years back was a father son restoration project and no way would we ever sell or give it up.
My aunt bought a 1956 Chevy 210 two door sedan new. We rode in in a lot when I was a kid, then in 1973 I was able to buy it from her. That makes it a 2-owner family car. It still lives in my garage, in "hibernation" until I have the time and $$ to restify her. No billet (ever) planned, just better power, brakes and handling.
many folks on here have had cars longer, but i bought clarence (see avitar) in march of '73. paid $75 for it. had to borrow the money from the bank and make 3 $25 (+/-) monthly payments on it. i'm the 4th owner. 3rd inherited it from #2. a friend has the original flathead V8 and 3 speed ****** out of it.
I'm the exact opposite. If I have a car more than 2 years it's considered long term, my Chevy will soon be long term and may be the keeper. Although I have been eyeballing a certain shoebox....lol
Bought my 72' Comet in fall of 71' from Newman Lincoln/Mercury in Hartford, CT..I still have it, a little over 15k miles, never seen snow and got rained on maybe twice..So one owner for almost 39 years..Best pics I could do with it on the lift..
Not the original owner, but I bought this one in the mid 70's and still have it. It hasn't reached the top of the project list yet, but I'm slowly working on rebuilding it now. Larry T
Traded a '62 vette for the '40 Chevy convert in March, 1979 - 32 years and I'm on the 3rd major rehab after 178,000 miles. She's been a keeper. Charlie
I should also mention my 51' Ford Bus Cpe..Cali car with 42,000 miles bought in 68' for $20.00 [stuck engine]..Still have at 43 years..
