saw an add sometime the last few weeks for a new set of fiber wheels used to move ch***is around in shop, painting, etc. They take the place of the tires and wheels and bolt on like regular wheels. Has anyone else seen or used these and what did you think of them?
I'm not familiar with fiber wheels. I have seen guys use 1" thick plywood discs to mock up their planned wheel/tire combo. The plywood is cut to the same diameter as the tire and attached with lugnuts just like a wheel. It allows you to roll the ch***is around the shop and is plenty strong enough for a Model A ch***is. Hope this helps. -Gary
that made me chuckle, you have to be kidding right. $300 and $2 lug nuts, and people complain about how much it costs to build a car these days. those are funny I don't care who you are, thats funny !
I saw that add, then I saw a guy who cut out wheel size discs out of 3/4 inch plywood. $300 or $15 and a bit of time with a jig saw.......not to hard of a question for me.
Cut my build rollers out of 3/4 ply as well. $23, inflation I guess. I recommend a radius on the OD, that Ackerman tends to tear chunks off if left square. Dave
