I'm putting together a 30 roadster on original 32 rails. The body is all stock and I want to run it High Boy with a full hood and a 32 grill shell. What is every one doing for the rear sub rails? I hear Brookville makes a kit for the rear sub rails, does any one have any experience with it? What am I going to do with the hood? I would appreciate any kind of help, tips and pics that any one has

    Here's a good start...

I like to keep it hoodless, but with a louvered hood looks great...as for the rear...since I prefer quick changes I would go with a rear buggy spring
setup, bobbed rear 32 frame rails

    Something like this:

    Hello,

I would suggest looking at Rolf's coupe build thread. It's in the HAMB Tech archive. I took this pic from his thread. That's pretty much what I did on my roadster.

Get the Steadfast Mfg. rear subrail kit from Riley. Way better looking then the tubing.

I made mine out of 1x2 tubing. Mine kicks up at a 45 then is flat back to the rear of the body. Ive seen alot of people doing it cleaner by making a bunch of relif cuts in the tubing and bending it to fit the shape of the rails. That is how I would do it if mine wasn't already done.

I am getting ready to do the same thing and I have seen the kit from Riley and it looks perfect. I will be ordering it very soon! Please post pictures of your progress.

  9. I cut my rear sub frame out on the '29 roadster I'm building, reshaped them to fit the '32 rail kick-up and then reinstalled them. It was a lot of work, but I think they came out great.
