Im getting close to installing the headliner in the 55 Olds and had a couple questions first. Does anybody know the order the bows go in? I noticed they are color coded on the ends. They fell out after driving for a while with no headliner so I took them all out and didnt mark them. Also on installing, it looks like the front and back use tack strips, and the sides have metal strips with teeth all down them. How do you get the headliner attached to this? Also any tips on where to start installing would be great. Thanks.
I did my olds a few months back and posted a thread about it. if you want pm me direct and i can give you some guidance as to how i did it

Also, a tip if your installing a vinyl headliner: jusicious use of a heat gun will be the cure for streching it and wrinkles.
I've only done 2 so far and have been told they look better than a lot of professional jobs. Main difference there is that I didn't have to rush to make the most bucks by saving time. So that's my advice. Take your time.......... I've done a 57 Belair hardtop and a 55 Olds Holiday and those rounded back corners are the challenge. Both were vented vinyl which is easier to stretch (and rip) No instructions or good advice as you have here. I centered it on the bows first and lightly tacked around the perimeter to keep it from pulling from one side to the other. Just like doing a proper torque sequence on heads, I starting my way around till I drew it down tight on the tack strips and cut off the excess. Hope I didn't confuse anything with my method, my main point is to be patient, work it out even as you go and take your time. If I can guess my way through, I figure anyone can do it........ Thanks for rescuing and enjoying another cool Olds! They don't make them anymore............
