Event Coverage Show at the USS Salem in Quincy MA

Hey fella's I've put together a new show this year. hope you can make it.

its about time a show like this happens on the south shore! post this up over on the M*** hambers group!

 

it won't let me post the image on m*** hamb? i looked on the help menue and it didnt help. I then tried yelling at it. that didn't work either. Any sugestions?

It is so great to see a hot rod show at the USS Salem! For those of you that don't know, the USS Salem had a young hot rodder from Marysville, OH aboard. After the Navy he went back to Ohio and started racing, got married and became the third employee of the budding NHRA. Over the years he became the Division 3 Director and General Manager of Raceway Park in Indianapolis. He was a great historian and saved everything from his first day, when the museum in Pomona was being formed he worked for weeks setting up displays with his memorabilia and others. He made Pomona/NHRA Museum what it is today. He also was the one that started the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, KY. His wife Eileen also worked for NHRA. Years later the USS Salem was going to be destroyed, this young sailor now had friends and influence in Washington, DC, and with the help of others, Bob Daniels and the USS Salem ***ociation saved Her. They all worked thru the ***ociation to restore Her to Her glory days. Since then Bob has p***ed away and his wife now lives in Florida. Some of the friends that Bob made along the way was one young Marine officer who he met on the ship and later became Commandant of the US Marine Corps, his name was PX Kelly.
For those of you that go to the show, know that Bob will be looking down from above smiling at all of the awesome hot rods and kool kustoms in attendance.

I was working in Weymouth this week and drove by the USS Salem....this is gonna be a great show, I hope lots of folks show up.

Neat stuff. I grew up in Wollaston, went to Beechwood Knoll, Central, and then BC High.

weather looks good. I hope you all can make it. Eileen Daniels will be at the show. Make sure you get a chance to say hi to her. She has some really cool stories of the foundation of the NHRA.

The Handi Kids Camp in Bridgewater ma. it's our 29th year supporting this summer camp for kids with disability's. I have it posted on the H.A.M.B. I'll talk to you on Saturday.
