Well i must say rebuilding some of the stuff on the 999 was a great idea it made it 1290 miles...

Soooooo, as I said earlier, we arrived in Austin at about 3:30. We spent the previous night resting in Baton Rouge from the 850 mile first day cruise. It all started when we left Monday morning before the crack-o-dawn from West Palm Beach. It was overcast, but not raining. The dry weather didn't last long. We hit a constant light rain soon after we hit the Turnpike. Lenny gets my vote for the "Pelotas Grandes" award for driving the 999 roadaster all the way to Austin. The rain was off-and-on up until Tallanasty when it let loose. If you haven't experienced heavy rain in Florida, any description can't do it justice. Let's try? Big-fat-wet-heavy-can't-see-two-feet-in-front-of-you drops pelting you non stop...you get the picture. Now, slap your *** in a roadster and try it. Nice huh? Anyway. Tuesday's drive was great. It was overcast, but the rain pretty much stayed away minus a few very light misty episodes. None of us experienced any mechanical issues, which made it all the better. After checking into the La Quinta and knocking back a few, we hit Doc's down on S.Congress. Great meal and sights! Here's a few more pics from the road trip. Enjoy!

Can't tell you how much I envy you guys who can run this time of year. I'm still lookin at snow on the ground here in Maine. Enjoy.

This is what makes the Hamb site so neat. Love the road trips and pictures. We are only 150 miles or so away but always shoot pic's on the way. Glad your trip was a good one and we will look you up Friday when we get there.
PS--- had the rain in my roadster and know the feeling but we dry out pretty fast here!
