    Hey guys and hopefully girls,

this is my first thread about my Packard 200. Its in great need of serious restoration. As I am over-thinking this big adventure I just can't make up my mind about the roof. Do I drop it "Old Gold Style" (VERY COOL) or use the money of a top chop (witch I can't perform myself) for some other cool stuff like airride, nice interior, cool wheels, etc...

    What do you guys think?
    Kind regards

Those are cool as is. Here is one chopped I found on google. Something with the windshield is just not right to me.

Old Gold, I've been reading your thread about the top chop you performed with great interest. I think you've done an amazing job on that Pack. Also the 4-2door conversion is really cool, it give's me a lot of inspiration. If I've got any questions I think I'll come to you.
    Greetings

  12. if you do not plan on doing chop yourself,it will cost alot of $. so i would do everthing else that you want ,just chop later. get some enjoyment out of the car (chopped or not)

Chop would be cool, but the money you save by not doing the chop would sure go a long way toward making it a nice driver. I would spend the money making it nice with out a chop and drive it. White interior, a crazy metallic one color paint job, WWW and a slam. Just my opinion.

  14. Do you want a dead car you can't drive with a cool chopped top, or a nice drivable car you can go enjoy and chop later? Doesn't seem like a hard choice to me.

I must agree with Doozzee, Lazer5000 and Rustynewyorker. Although a chop is very cool I'd rather drive a nice finished car than having a chopped car in the garage. At Packardinfo.com I found this good lookin' example. What do you guys think of this one? No way I'm going to put flametrowers underneat my Pack but the rest is very nice.

Although I did chop mine, I have to agree with the above statements if its not something you feel you can accomplish comfortably. This is how I rolled mine pre chop and 2 door conversion. Was a great car to drive.

  19. damn there a cool car, chopped or unchopped. but i agree if you cant do it yourself its gonna cost a heap, you could make a really cool mild custom out of it with the money youd spend on the chop

  21. I say don't chop it and make it a mild custom and enjoy it. With some emblems shaved and such, the old packards look custom enough as compaired to what is usually hot-rodded.

Nevermind the paint job... But chopping the top makes these cars look a lot better.
