I know you really don't want that so you can send it here I won't even ask for any money..............
curious what the flathead guys think about the Mitchell intake manifolds. This came half way around the world, it better be good.....
My pants feel funny, now. That's awesome- please post up a pic of it mocked up sitting on the mill. rick
I have to give credit to Ross Gunning in Winnipeg for the fine machine work with super attention to detail....
Nice stuff manm....you wont know yourselof when it goes onto the FH and you bury your right foot inot the firewall for the first time. ENJOY !! Rat
Flatheads and ****......what a nice combo. Looking forward to seeing what this is gonna be attached to.
It's a 471 on a Mitchell intake. The carbs are Holley 2100's sittin' on a Hamilton intake. It all goes atop my 49 flattie with a 4" merc crank, isky cam, offenhauser heads, Jahn's pistons and adjustable johnsons....too many goodies to remember..hope it's worth it. I'll be underdriving it to keep the boost around 6psi until I know what it'll do. The package is going in my '31 tudor thats also highly modified....
Howdy! If you use unmodified offy heads, compression ratio will be little too high (almost 9:1 I think). Detonation will be the problem. I recommend to lower it to 8:1 or less. Joe Abbins latest 335hp flathead performance book is very good information source, or search here on hamb, there's couple of blown flatty threads. But this is only my opinion...
Yes, compression ratio is VERY important. Thats why I'm limiting my boost to 6 psi at first to see how it responds. After some careful calculations, i believe I'm under 8:1
