Is there an area for the classic car/camper crowd? I plan to bring my combo but I'd like to hang with other car/camper folks. Do we just pullup in the big open field (not-infield side of creek) and set up camp or are there designated spots? I saw some Airstreams parked together but don't know any of these folks.
Sweet Wagon! Just bring it and park with the other non-64 cars out in the parking area. Just a short walk across the bridge to the infield.
I promise I'll be back to show business as soon as we get back from the Lonestar Roundup this coming week.
Man, wish it were pre-69!! either way, i have never been and id like to check this out. THis is the first i have looked into it; sounds like everything takes place on the infield? i assume theres a foot bridge or something, judging by the site it looks like you have to cross the "track" to get in. I assume there's parking all around, think i'll bring my 68 truck as it sadly looks over longing for an "older" brother....... man i need a bigger garage.
I hope to get my new engine and trans in my 55 Ford and running so I can drive it up this year . The body work won't be done and no paint on the car but I will still drive it up if I finish the drive train up . If not I will drive up and park in the woods and still be there . Will NOT miss this show ever ! Retro Jim
"If you build, they will come." They built it and we're a comin'. My crew is going to need a quieter place to sleep as we are drinkers, but quiet after 10 PM drinkers, not all night wahoo partyers.
Guys with stock restored and post 64 cars can still show up and enjoy a great car show, they just can't park on the infield or go on the track. There are plenty of other thing to do, just ask anyone that's been there before. See everyone there soon. May 20th is coming up in a hurry.
By far the best show of the year......what I measure all the other shows by. Thanks to Larry and all his crew!! A++ We will be coming down thursday and camping till sunday. Planning to bring the custom 49 shoebox and the 51 ford cabover of course.
I didnt read through the whole thread because im in a rush to get out the door, if the body lines are the same but the car isnt a pre 64 am I good to go in? the case is a 66 F100. thanks guys, ill check back later on.
I'll be there in the 59 Elcamino. Hopefully I'll have the teardrop done in time for comfortable camping.
I will be home on leave from Germany this will be my Wifes first show as well as my daughters and mine first and only show in the states this year. I can't wait I will be in a O/T rental but I will be there
Gettysburg motels are only about 20-30 minutes down the road depending on motel. Camping is out, my idea of roughing it is the Holiday Inn . Fantastic show DO NOT MISS IT ! The infield fills up early, but around the track is just as good.
Someday I will make it the Showdown.....but in the meantime....buy a poster and support Old Larry and his bunch of muddy Scarrys....... hahahaha
Camping is out? Ya mean ya dont want to have a bon-fire next to your camp site with the local folks telling tall tales ALL night long. HAHA. See ya soon. Slim
