Gonna go check out a 35 ford 5 window today missing all the fenders and interior. He has the grill and hood. He said it has a custom frame, doesnt know what kind thats been blocked. The body is good with the original paint and the car has a new floor, no windows on the car. He said he has 302 with a c4 trans that needs to be rebuilt, its not in the car. This might be my first big project so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What is he asking? I bet around $5k?

Fenders will cost $1500 at the very least. Coupe rear fenders are coupe/cabrio/roadster only. Sedan fenders won't work.

Does it still have the bones and banjo?

as in wishbones... solid axle/spring in the front. Banjo is the original rear end.

Sounds like a good price then. I've seen real ****boxes with that price. The fenders are going to be your biggest hurdle financially.

check the rear tailpan, the lower quarters behind the doors, the lower cowl portion in front of the door. What about the roof insert?
Any window mechanisms? Rear window mechanism?
Like Django said, fenders are as rare as hen's teeth. Look at the fibergl*** ones as an option. You'll still need to find the front inner fender braces (L&R). There were two styles; one was the entire width of the inside of the fender and the other was a short style. The headlight buckets bolt thru these.
'35's and '36's are hot commodities these days. The best years for Ford IMO. I've had 4 of 'em.

In case you didn't know, the rear window rolls down. Not impossible to find if it's missing. You can call up Boyd and ask what he did with the 5 window they are butchering right now on American Hot Rod. As they carried the roof they cut off out of the shop, the rear window regulator was dragging the ground.

Yeah, if you are ok with gl*** fenders, that is the way to go. About $1500 ready to paint. $1500 steel fenders will need some love.

You can get any patch panels you need for it. The rear panel is about $250 I think? I haven't bought one in a couple years.

It has the orginal column in it? Then it most likely has the original front suspension. I doubt for $3500 that it has a dropped axle/vega box setup, but stranger things have happened.
