Well I found a intake that I was looking for! It's a 6 deuce intake for a redram and just wondering what you guy are doing for air cleaners? I would like to run vintage ones, but finding 6 to match might be as hard as finding that intake .. Any homemade or nice repo units out there?? Or pictures of old ones too.. Thanks continentaljohn
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50434 Look here for a pix of one of Dennis's air cleaners painted yellow.
I did a tech a couple years ago but can't find it. Here are the important pictures. Sheet metal, 1.5" mandrel bend exhaust pipe, 240Z air filter some imagination. It ****s air from underneath and the back so I don't worry about rain with my open engine compartment.
For new chrome filters you can't get much nicer than the ones from Wolk. see: http://www.wolkdesign.net/multi2bbl.htm
yeppppp thats a an olddd "Bedpan" ya see there. its on a buddy's 41 chevy. when i seen it all i could do is laff & i asked "how ****py is the gas mileage"....joe
While they wouldn't fit on a six deuce setup, the "coolest" I've seen were on Andy K***a's flathead. I'm guessing they were home-brewed. Anybody know otherwise?
They were available commercially - adds in the magazine type of thing. Came from Long Island I think. I know who has the original tooling but he won't get off it - wants to be the only in the world running a set Guy number one finds the tooling at a flea market and has me make a set. I tell him that I want first right of refusal if he wants to sell the tooling. I see him later and he traded it to guy number two for something he was going to sell. Guy number two has been sitting on the tooling for years now and guy number one told me at York that #2 isn't interested in selling it. Grrrrrrrr Dennis
