    Hey guys!

Im 22 years old and a newbie hot rodder with a hunger to learn as much as I can! I recently came across a 65 Rambler 660 cl***ic wagon that is my first project.
Of course the first few things I would like to start off with are lowering it and new wheels and whatnot, and of course get all the body work taken care of.
however im having a lot more difficulty finding parts than i initially thought i would for the car, so this is where your guys come in.
Of course i googled the **** out of it, but didnt find anything to reliable or exactly what i was looking for...
Im looking for body panels mainly, but also some odds n ends i the engine bay.

Any resources for this wagon would help!

    Thanks a lot!

  2. You may look for a Rambler or American motors forum or restorers club for those hard to find parts. You will probably have to fabricate your own body parts or buy good used ones.

Don't know what you need for under the hood but believe it or not you can find most of what you are looking for at the local NAPA store. They may not be exact restoration correct parts but you are not restoring it right? So if they look a little different than what came from the factory as long as they don't look completely out of place and function properly you are golden.

You might eventually end up trading your drivetrain out for something with a little more zot and easier to find parts. Well you will if I have any influence at all. :D

    Good luck in your adventure.

Nice wagon! I have a major thing for 65 Ramblers because my parents first brand new car was IDENTICAL to yours, and my first car was a 65 770 my grandpa sold me for $150.

The body panels on a Rambler are pretty flat, especially the ones with rust in your photos, so this is a GREAT opportunity to learn basic body work. You'll be surprised how far a little effort, some patience, and practice will get you. Sheet metal tools and welding equipment and supplies are pretty inexpensive. Also, with all due respect to that sweet green machine, you don't have to sweat ruining a high value collector vehicle while you learn.

What are you looking for in the engine bay?

Go for it! You'll have fun.

    thanks for the input guys...!

Great advice, and yes i am verrrrry excited to start learning body work! I have all the necessary tools to start like welder and hammers n what not... just that i dont know if im at the level of making my own replacement patches yet but i just might have to try!

As far as the engine bay, Ill have to check napa n see what theyve got... but thanks for the tip.
And an updated drivetrain is most definitely in my plans for the future ;)

Ill be taking pics along the way so keep a lookout! :)
