Hey all, Well it's that time of year again, time for the ever popular Dayton Ohio ( and anywhere else you want to drive from.) H.A.M.B. meet and greet. I have been in touch with John Dixon owner of the awesome Taj Ma Garaj, and he has graceously offered to let us take a tour again. The date is Saturday April 2 at 10:00 A.M. at the Taj. We will also be going to Quaker Steak and Lube 3725 Presidential Drive, Fairborn, OH 45324-9095. For lunch( plenty of parking) Speaking of parking John says. Just a reminder, if you plan on coming to the Taj and are not familiar with the Dayton area, please use 90 Eaker St., Dayton OH 45402 for your directions. Although Eaker St. is a very short street that runs east and west, there is ample street parking. The door numbered 90 is directly below a roof mounted blue VW Beetle and a red Porsche whale-tailed 911. Both of which can be seen from either I-75 and US 35. We'll also place a realtor sized sign close to the entrance for the geographically challenged. Dress warmly,it is a thermostatically controlled 55 inside the Taj. Kindly ask everyone to park on the street. There is an adjacent church parking lot that will charge me should anyone park there. Depending on weather, entering through door on 90 Eaker St. would probably be best bet. The Taj is comprised of four adjoined buildings at the corner of S. Perry St. and Eaker St. in Dayton. The zip code is 45402 for those doing a mapquest. Or they can click on the directions link at www.tajmagaraj.com So PLEASE everyone respect Johns rules on parking. Last year was alot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to doing it again. Sorry for the long post. Chris
I was there also last year, enjoyed the people and the tour of the Taj Ma Garaj. Like the Quaker Steak and Lube also, maybe if I real good there again this year the waitress will let me eat free again. Thanks again for the invite will see if I can make it over again.
****, thats the weekend of the Lonestar RoundUp, I'll be in Texas. Please tell John that I said "hi". Hopefully next time I can make it.
On the HAMB and just thinking, if I missed the meet and greet. Was going to PM you to find out. Thanks for the heads up. See ya there, Chris.
Probably the roadster. The "land yacht" is all naked in preparation for painting. She should be shinny the next time you see her.
I kinda liked the patina, but it should look sweet either way.See ya there.I will probably convoy up with Carlos.
Shoot I was hoping you could make it this year. Checked all the local shows, never thought to check the RoundUp.
We have added a few things since you folks visited last year. A couple of the latest additions are "Big Juan's Hardware" and the "Kamon Iwanna Lei Ya Tiki Bar". You'll also see Barbara Eden, Marilyn Monroe and a few of their friends catching some sun at the beach. Bill Winger, owner of Dayton's own of "Daddy Katz", will be here with a store freebie and an open house special for your consumption, www.daddykatz.com As Chris mentioned in his first post, kindly park on either Eaker or Perry St. You'll enter the Taj at 90 Eaker St. There will be a sign close by pointing out the entrance. Drinks and beverages are permitted but kindly refrain from bringing any food inside unless you have enough for everyone. Kids under twelve must be accompanied by an insurance card carrying adult.
^^^^That's great^^^^ Daddy Katz is a very cool place and Bill is a very cool guy. This just keeps getting better and better. Ya better be there our your gona regret it.
Well impossible to plan around every event out there. I do plan on attending Brian aka blacktopbandit's memorial weekend bash in May so I can catch up with all my Ohio pals.
It's gona be a good time, so come on out everyone. If the rods not ready, then drive the daily or what ever you have. Get rid of that cabin fever, and meet some great people.
DAMN IT! I have to work, however I am the manager of the Tire Discounters next door to Quaker Steak. I guess I will get to check out everyones hot rods from across the way. If I can make it happen, I will drive my 40 to work, that way mine don't feel too left out, haha. Have fun guys.
I watched you guys roll in, if I didn't have a million things going on I would have come over to introduce myself and take a closer look at the rods. All were *****in from what I saw, and whoever has the orange 3 window, that car is pure ***. I will see you guys around hopefully. Plan to have the truck drivable tonight.
As always, it was a good time....thanks Chris for putting this together. Hope to see ya at the next one, just let me know when plans are finalized on it.
