    Is there a list of reputable crate motor manufacturers? There are a lot of them out there, but who's worth a crap? I'm personally looking for a small block Ford, and Blue Print (through Jegs) isn't looking so good.

    I've used three of Blueprints motors and they've been great. Two 347" Fords and a 383 chevy. No problems at all.

    Um Ford Motor Company perhaps - through a Ford Motorsports dealer. You could call Roy Brizio - he buys lots of Ford engines...

    I appreciate the "How about FORD," stabs, but I was looking for something a little different than their 306 block. It's a pretty decent deal, I would agree, but I've seen private builders increase value in different ways. Outside of that, I'm not necessarily looking for a new BOSS block at $7k.
