Taking a leave from Hot Rods.

  1. Completely lost interest in hot rods. Sold my '29 and every hot rod part I owned...two extra running flatheads..several grill shells..Model A frames..lots of wide five hubs and wheels..half dozen #78 Gearboxes. No regrets, although I'll probably get lured back and wish I had my stuff back....I did keep an old Austin cowl..hmmmm.

Probably won't last, but I am going to focus on Cushman Scooters for a while.

I've had fun on the HAMB...more fun when there were less than 1500 users than it is now, but it's still a lot of fun. Ryan and the mods have done a hell of a job. I'll be lurking off and on, but will keep my piehole shut for a while.

For sure, you can't just stay away totally - we need to hear a peep out of you from time to time.

    We will miss you.

Sorry to see you go, but sometimes we all need a break. Your knowledge (and opinions) will be missed.
Post some Cushman pics from time to time, they're always cool to see.

I also mess with scooters and vintage minibikes and they are cool in the fact that you can totally restore one in about a month, where as a car takes me forever and I usually run out of money about the same time I get burnt out on a car project !!

I have said this exact same thing more than 8 times already. See you in a month, try not to catch a chill from the night sweats.

I tried that for 20+ years, went to the opening of Topeka Raceway, and that was it. The smell of fuel and burning rubber did me in. You'll be back . NO way to get gas and oil out of your system.

Completely disagree. Sure, all off us need a break every once in a while. But selling off everything? Sounds like maybe something different.

I suspect this is an april fools stunt, but I'll play along. I have a buddy who has a major chevy II/acadian fetish, he does this every few years. I always buy a bunch of stuff off him cheap, 6 months later, he's calling me up looking for parts...

How long before you "HOT ROD" a Cushman. An aquaintance from a former job has one from the '50s (enclosed back wheel and almost a fin bodywork) that he is building. it is lowered in the back, has ape hangers and a modified Buell Blast enging hooked to a snowmobile CVT trans ...

... see you never really get away !!! :p
